Terms of Service

These terms are between you and Chip Jackson, an individual doing business as Runo (“Runo”, “we”, “us”). They cover the Runo apps, the Coach Portal and runo.app (together, “Runo”). You agree to them by creating an account or using Runo. Read them with our Privacy Notice.

You must be 16 or older, and live in the United States. Runo isn’t offered elsewhere. You’re responsible for what happens under your account, and for keeping your sign-in details safe. Give us accurate information.

Runo is a training log and planning tool. It is not medical advice, and it doesn’t replace a doctor or other health professional. Running and hard exercise carry a risk of injury, illness and, rarely, death. Talk to a doctor before you start or change a training program, especially if you have a health condition, are returning from injury, or are pregnant. Training plans, workouts, paces, heart rate zones, weather adjustments and Messages are suggestions. Runo AI is a computer program and can be wrong. A Coach is a person who doesn’t see everything about you. You decide what to do. Stop if something hurts or feels wrong, and get medical help if you need it.

Runo offers different ways to get a training plan, called Plan Tiers:

• Runo AI – computer-written Messages and plans. No person reads your week.
• Coach-reviewed – a human Coach reviews your training and writes to you.
• Self-planned – you plan your own workouts.

Coaches are independent people. They aren’t our employees unless we say so, and they’re responsible for their own advice. Not every Plan Tier is open to everyone at all times, especially during the beta.

Runo is in beta. Features may change, break or go away, and we may reset or remove beta data. Runo is free during the beta. If we start charging, we’ll tell you before and you won’t be charged unless you agree.

Your training data and Messages are yours. You give us permission to store, process and display them, and to send them to the companies in our Privacy Notice as needed to run Runo. That includes your Coach, if you have one. If you connect Strava, you also agree to Strava’s terms, and we use your Strava data only as Strava allows.

Don’t:

• Break the law, or use Runo to harass or harm anyone.
• Try to get into other people’s accounts or data, or probe or overload our systems.
• Copy, resell or scrape Runo, or reverse engineer it, except as the law allows.
• Give us false information or use Runo for someone else without their permission.

Runo is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and noninfringement. We don’t promise that Runo will always work, be secure, be accurate, or that it will help you reach a goal. To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any injury or loss from following a plan or workout. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the past 12 months and $100. Some states don’t allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

You can delete your account at any time, in the app or on the website. See Delete your account. What we keep afterwards is in the Privacy Notice. We can close or suspend your account, with notice when we can, if you’ve:

• Broken these terms
• Put us in a position where we might break the law
• Broken the law or attempted to break the law
• Given us false information at any time
• Been abusive to anyone at Runo or a member of our community

We may also end the beta or Runo itself, and we’ll give notice when we can.

This agreement will always be available on runo.app. If we make changes, we’ll tell you in the app or by email. If you don’t agree to the changes, delete your account. Using Runo after changes take effect means you accept them.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Please email us first so we can try to fix the problem.
