Questions, answered.

What Runo costs, who it’s for, and how training with it works.

Cost & fit

How much does Runo cost?

Everything on Runo is free during the beta. Once paid tiers arrive, expect standard training plans to cost under $20 a month.

Some runners can pay hundreds a month for a coach. Runo is for the many more who can’t, and who still deserve great tools to help them improve and grow as a runner.

Who is Runo built for?

Anyone from a beginner training for their first 5k to a sub-elite athlete racing the marathon. Plans range from 4 runs a week for runners just starting out to 10 a week for high-mileage athletes.

Runo is built from the ground up for advanced training, while staying friendly and approachable for beginners who want the best tools.

Who isn’t Runo built for yet?

Trail and ultra runners. Runo doesn’t yet have plans for hilly races or distances beyond 50k. It’s still a useful self-serve tool for managing your own training schedule, and better support for these athletes is on the roadmap.

How is Runo different from other running apps?

Every recommendation in Runo comes from proven formulas, not fuzzy intuition, guesswork from AI, or untested theory. Your level, paces, zones, training load and plans all come from Coach Mark Hadley’s coaching system, so your training stays inside well-worn guardrails.

Rigorous science and math you can count on, not guesswork.

Can I use Runo with a human coach?

We’re testing a coaching tier where you can message Coach Hadley (and potentially other coaches) and get training plans he writes himself.

Phones & watches

What phones does Runo work on?

iPhone and Android. iPhone runners join the beta through Apple’s TestFlight, and Android runners through a closed test on Google Play. Invites go out gradually on both.

Does Runo work with my watch or Strava?

Yes, through Strava. Connect your Strava account and every run you record arrives in Runo on its own, from any watch that syncs to Strava: Garmin, COROS, Apple Watch, Suunto and more.

Runo doesn’t yet send workouts to your watch or connect to watches directly.

Your training

What if I miss a workout?

Life happens, and your plan is built to absorb it. Move a workout to another day in a couple of taps, or message Runo to rework your week around a busy schedule, a cold or a niggle.

Your plan counts down to race day, so a missed run never pushes your race back or piles up extra work.

Can I change my goal race?

Yes, anytime from Settings. Change the race, distance or date and you’ll pick your plan again for the new goal. Runs you’ve done and workouts you’ve edited stay on your calendar, and Runo replans the weeks ahead around the new race.

Why does Runo adjust my paces for heat?

Heat and humidity make the same pace cost more effort. When the forecast is warm, Runo slows that day’s target paces by 1–10% so you train at the right effort instead of overreaching.

After a hot run, Runo scores it as if you’d run it in cool air, so a sweltering day is judged fairly, not counted against you. The adjustments come from Coach Hadley’s heat guidance, based on temperature plus dew point.

Beta & data

How do I get into the beta?

Enter your email and choose iPhone or Android. We’re rolling the beta out gradually, a group of runners at a time, while we work through the rough edges, and we’ll send your invite when we’re ready for runners like you.

iPhone runners get a TestFlight link to install Runo; Android runners get a spot in our Google Play test. Telling us how you’d use Runo (your goal race, how much you run, whether you work with a coach) helps us know when to bring you in. It’s free.

What happens to my data?

Your runs, plan and messages are yours. We use them only to run Runo for you, and we never sell them. You can delete your account anytime from the app, which removes your account and training data.

See our privacy policy for the details.
